To check your American Express Gift Card Balance online, here’s what you go to do:

  • Enter your Gift Card’s 4- digit Security Code located on the front of the card, Expiration Date, and Card Number.

You can access American Express to get card balance services.

  • You have to enter the zip code or state name in the search bar and press the button “Search”.
  • View the results and select the nearest store location to visit.

  • You are required to carefully concentrate on customer support instructions.

WHERE CAN YOU USE MY GIFT CARD?

Your American Express Gift Card can be used almost anywhere American Express® Cards are accepted in the United States and the District of Columbia, with the exception of recurring billing and ATMs.

Your American Express eGift Card can be used at any American Express-accepting online, phone, or mail-order merchant in the United States. Remember that you can only shop with merchants in the United States and the District of Columbia. You can’t use your eGift Card for any transactions that need a physical card.

HOW CAN YOU REPLACE A STOLEN OR LOST GIFT CARD?

You must immediately contact American Express if you feel your Card has been lost or stolen by calling 1-888-846-4308. You’ll be asked for your card number as well as any identifying details. They will not be able to supply you with a replacement Card unless you provide your card number as well as all other relevant information. If their records reveal that the Card has a balance left, they will cancel the lost card and send you a replacement Card in the same amount as the remaining balance.

WHAT YOU CAN DO IF YOU HAVE A GIFT CARD WITHOUT A PIN?

American Express gift cards do not have numbers designated as a PIN. Instead, they come with a 3-digit Card Security Code (CSD) located on the back of the Card and a 4-digit Card Identification Code (CID) just above the 15-digit Gift Card number on the front of the Card. You need these three numbers in case of card loss or theft.
